Advocacy Day 2022 in Dover was a success. On June 21, 2022, The NMA First State Chapter along with Representative Melissa Minor-Brown and Senator Darius Brown introduced a resolution to recognize Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, a Delaware native and the First African American female physician in the US. The resolution acknowledged the contributions of Black women to medicine and the sciences and resulted from a partnership between the Delaware Humanities Society, Black Mothers in Power, and the National Medical Association, First State Chapter.
